Panasonic Announces New HD Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera

Panasonic System Solutions Company of North American, Division of Panasonic Corporation of North America announced the addition of the AW-HE145 full HD integrated pan-tilt-zoom camera to its professional pan/tilt/zoom camera line-up. This innovative camera delivers broadcast-quality images, with flexible operation and compatibility with an array of Panasonic software solutions including the PTZ Control Center and AI-driven Auto Tracking.

Optimal for capturing content in low-light situations, the HE145 is equipped with a large 1-inch MOS sensor and optical 20x zoom to achieve superb sensitivity shooting even in dark scenes. The new camera delivers smooth “on-air” moves and supports HDR for capturing images with a high dynamic range. The camera’s 75.1-degree horizontal wide angle lens – one of the widest in its class — allows production staff to capture full shots in large spaces, including theaters, stadiums, lecture and symphony halls, and sanctuaries, and is invaluable for studios with limited spaces.

For video streaming applications, HE145 supports RTMP to allow direct upload of video to live-streaming services such as YouTube and Facebook Live. In addition, Secure Reliable Transport [SRT] is supported to maintain stability while transmitting high-quality video, even on unstable networks. Outputs include 3G-SDI, HDMI and IP for the flexibility to integrate with a variety of workflow infrastructures.

Fujifilm Launches FUJINON Lens XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR

Fujifilm is pleased to announce that it will gradually launch the “FUJINON Lens XF33mmF1.4 LM WR” in late September 2021. It will be a new addition to the lineup of interchangeable XF lenses designed for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras, known for their compact and lightweight design and outstanding image quality based on Fujifilm’s proprietary color reproduction technology.

The XF33mmF1.4 LM WR is a large-diameter prime lens with the standard focal length of 33mm (equivalent to 50mm in the 35mm format), offering superior resolution capabilities and the maximum aperture of F1.4. Its silent, fast and highly accurate AF system ensures to capture a photo subject swiftly and accurately.

The XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR consists of 15 lens elements in 10 groups, including two aspherical elements and three ED elements, to achieve superior resolution capabilities for edge-to-edge sharpness. Boasting the maximum aperture of F1.4, the lens allows users to produce high-quality pictures with minimal camera shake and digital noise even in low light conditions. The standard focal length of 33mm (equivalent to 50mm in the 35mm format) makes it a perfect choice for snapshots and portraiture that incorporates a natural sense of perspective.

The XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR uses the Inner Focus system, driven by a linear motor, for fast and highly accurate AF. The resulting silent and smooth focusing is perfect for shooting not only stills but also videos. The highly portable design that weighs approximately 360g, thanks to the compact and lightweight X Mount system*1, offers an outstanding mobility.

In addition to the XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR, Fujifilm has today announced the launch of the FUJINON Lens XF23mmF1.4 R LM WR. Including the FUJINON Lens XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR, launched in May this year, a total of three lenses form a new-generation “large diameter prime” series with high resolution capabilities, catering to future advancement in image sensor resolutions. The development roadmap*2, also unveiled today, revealed basic specifications for a high-magnification zoom and an ultra-telephoto zoom, due to join the XF lens lineup in the future. The lineup of 40 interchangeable lenses, shown in the roadmap, will cover a broad range of shooting conditions, enhancing the joy of photo shooting with the X Series of mirrorless cameras.

Four Nikon Products Honored with EISA Awards

Nikon announced that four of its products have been successful at the EISA Awards 2021-2022, presented by the Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

The Nikon Z 6II full-frame mirrorless camera won the Advanced Camera award, while the Nikon Z 5 full-frame mirrorless camera received the Best Buy Camera (full-frame) award. NIKKOR lenses were also winners, with the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S receiving the Professional Telephoto Zoom Lens award, and the NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 given the Macro Lens award.

GoPro Released Quik 8.8

GoPro announced the release of Quik 8.8. Users can now take frame grabs from videos captured on their phones and will notice streamlined workflow for editing phone content in Quick. GoPro also released five new GoPro music tracks for Quik video edits.

The Frame Grab feature is one of the most popular editing tools in Quik today, so GoPro is excited to introduce an improved workflow for getting frame grabs from your phone’s videos. Currently, most smartphone users pull stills from a video by taking a screenshot, but with Quik’s Frame Grab tool:

You won’t lose quality: Quik’s Frame Grab tool saves images in the same resolution that your video was captured in. Taking a screenshot captures only the resolution of the phone’s screen size, not the videos.

It’s easy and precise to scrub to the exact frame: Quik’s scrubber has single-frame accuracy, allowing you to step forward or backwards with precision, to easily find that perfect moment.

There’s no cropping required: Quik’s Frame Grab tool matches the aspect ratio of the source video. Your phone’s native screenshot feature may require you to crop out additional UI elements.
