Fujifilm Launches FUJINON Lens GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR

Fujifilm is pleased to announce the launch of the FUJINON Lens GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR in November 2021. It will be a new addition to the lineup of interchangeable GF lenses designed for GFX series of mirrorless digital cameras, incorporating the large-format sensor, approximately 1.7 times larger than the full-frame 35mm sensor.

The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR covers the most frequently-used focal length range from 35mm in wide angle to the standard 70mm (equivalent to 28mm-35mm format), producing premium-quality images in a wide variety of situations.

It is the most compact and lightest in the GF zoom lenses to provide excellent portability. The highly portable form factor will broaden the scope of applications for GFX camera systems, including the FUJIFILM GFX50S II mirrorless digital camera.

The new GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR lens has a focal length range from 35mm to 70mm (equivalent to 28mm-55mm in the 35mm format) and high resolution capabilities despite being the most compact and lightest in the GF zoom lenses, weighing approximately 390g and measuring 96.4mm (wide-angle end).

The retractable barrel structure, which stores the lens barrel compactly, reduces the length to 73.9mm when fully collapsed for added portability. It would reduce the physical burden even when used as a walk around lens, enabling casual hand-held shooting for snapshots, landscape photography and portraits. The lens can also take a close-up shot of a subject approximately 25cm from the front-most of the lens to accommodate a broad range of shooting situations such as photography of a meal on a table.

The fast, silent and highly-accurate AF system attains focus on a targeted subject smoothly to capture every photo opportunity. The lens has a dust- and moisture-resistant structure and can operate at temperatures as low as 10° C, which enables users to continue shooting in light rain or dusty place.

Fujifilm has unveiled the updated development roadmap for GF lenses, offering basic specifications for lenses to be added to the lineup including an ultra-wide-angle zoom, a large-diameter standard prime lens and a tilt & shift lens. With the 17-lens lineup presented in the roadmap the covers a wide shooting range, Fujifilm will continue to offer the joy of photography using the GFX Series.

Spun Drive Effects Introduces Litigator Overdrive Pedal

Spun Drive Effects has introduced the Litigator Overdrive Pedal. The company was founded in Seattle and now handcrafted in Bellingham, Washington. Spun Drive Effects pedals are all analog and use only quality components.

The Litigator was inspired by the blues rock sounds of Britain in the early 1960’s, known to some as the “beano” tone, and to others as the “Bluesbreaker” sound. But don’t be fooled – this is not a clone of Marshall’s famous and often replicated Blusebreaker pedal.

The Litigator is an original, transistor-based design that uses two gain stages to achieve a creamy, sparkly overdrive with an almost fuzz-like character not found in most overdrive pedals. Keep the gain low for just a hint of crunch, or crank it up for a lead-worthy overdriven tone that gets plenty dirty while maintaining note clarity when you strum chords. The pedal also includes a tone control that allows you to cut highs or crank them for that extra sparkle.

Full Features:

  •  Wide gain range from light crunch to screaming overdrive
  •  Ample volume to push a tube amp even at low gain settings
  •  Tone control for cutting highs or adding sparkle
  •  All analog original circuit
  •  Ultra premium soft-click Gorva footswitches
  • High-quality Wurth and WIMA capacitors
  •  Neutrik jacks
  •  True bypass
  •  Runs on standard negative-tip 9V power supply (not included)
  •  Original art designed by Seattle artist Daniel Chesney
  •  Pedals designed and build by hand in Bellingham, Washington

Panasonic Releases LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 Lens for LUMIX S Series

Panasonic is pleased to introduce a new large-aperture wide fixed focal length lens, the LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 [S-S24], as the third addition to their series of F1.8 large-aperture lenses based on the L-Mount system standard.

A total of four F1.8 fixed focal length lenses from the LUMIX S Series including 85mm [S-S85]. 50mm [S-S50], and the new 24mm [S-S24] lens feature a common size and position of control parts to provide practical advantages in use. The lenses’ center of gravity is similar, which makes it easy to exchange lenses quickly with minimum balance adjustment when the camera is on a gimbal. In addition, their descriptive performance is consistent, and a uniform diameter enables the use of common filters.

The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 is comprised of twelve lens elements in eleven groups including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses and one UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens. The use of three aspherical lenses realizes both high descriptive performance and beautiful bokeh, which are common advantages to the series of all F1.8 lenses. It is suitable for versatile situations ranging from landscapes to snapshots, taking advantage of the wide angle of view. The ED lenses and the UED lens effectively suppress chromatic aberration.

The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 is capable of smooth, silent operation to work with the camera’s high-speed, high-precision contrast AF system with the sensor drive at max.240 fps. For the non-linear setting, focus is shifted with a variable amount according to the rotation speed of the focus ring while focus is shifted with a designated amount according to the rotational quantum of the focus ring for the linear setting. Sensitivity (the amount of focus shift per rotational quantum) can be selected from 90 to 360 degrees by 30 degrees to enable intended focus operation. The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 also excels in video recording performance with a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing, which was a fatal problem of all interchangeable lenses designed for still image photography. Further, with a micro-step aperture control for smooth exposure change, professional quality video can be recorded.

With its approximately 310g compact size and light weight, the LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 features stunning mobility to fit the S5, LUMIX’s smallest full-frame model. The rugged dust/splash-resistant design withstands use under harsh conditions even at 10 degrees below zero (14 degrees Fahrenheit) for high mobility. The filter diameter is 67 mm, with a 9-blade circular aperture diaphragm.

With the addition of the upcoming standard 35 mm fixed focal length lens and the four F1.8 large-aperture lenses of the LUMIX S series, the Panasonic and L-Mount system alliance is committed to the development of L-Mount lenses for the further expansion of its lineup to fulfill the needs of customers.

The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 (S-S24) will be available at valued channel partners for $899.99 in mid-October.

An integrated gyro sensor tracks head movement as the user plays, driving sophisticated 3D algorithms that produce an immersive sound field with extraordinary spatial realism.

Waza-Air Bass comes with loads of amps and effects specifically tuned for bass, with full customization and ready-to-play presets available via the free BOSS Tone Studio app. Five different bass amp types provide everything from clean and punchy modern sounds to vintage and driven tube-style voicing, and over 30 effects are available from the vast BOSS bass effects library. And with six onboard memories, users can store favorite setups and scroll through them with dedicated buttons.

With a wide range of onboard rhythms, daily practice sessions, with Waza-Air Bass are always fun and productive. Ten acoustic drum patterns are available, with easy BPM and reverb control in the BOSS Tone Studio app. There’s also a metronome with 32 rhythm variations, including triplets and odd meters like 5/4 and 7/4.

All audio connectivity with Waza-Air Bass is 100-percent wireless, allowing users to move and play in complete freedom. Advanced wireless tech from BOSS’s renowned WL series provides premium sound quality, effortless set up, and great playing feel with low latency.
