Fujifilm Wins Gold at the Pentawards 2020

FujiFilm announced that the packaging design for the hybrid instant camera instax mini LiPlay has won the Gold Award in the internationally-prestigious package design competition Pentawards 2020. The company has taken out the Gold Award for the second year running following 2019.

The Penawards, established in 2007, is an internationally-prestigious award that specifically targets package designs. Each year, an international jury panel consisting of 30 people including prominent designers and experienced design directors examine entries of excellent package designs, submitted from around the world, based on judging criteria including design quality, brand expression, creativity and innovation. This year, 56 entries won the Gold Award out of over 2000 entries submitted from more than 60 countries.

The instax mini LiPlay is the hybrid instant camera that features the Sound function. The function converts voice data into a QR code to be printed out together with a picture taken with the camera. The function has taken instax’s unique value – capturing, printing, and sharing a precious moment – to a new level.

The instax mini LiPlay camera is designed to be simple yet elegant while also sporting on-trend looks. The essence of the camera design has been faithfully reflected to its packaging. Electro-Harmonix Launches the Pitch Fork +

Electro-Harmonix has announced that the new and much anticipated Pitch Fork + is rolling off the assembly line and shipping to music retailers worldwide.

The polyphonic pitch shifter/harmony pedal is equipped with two independent pitch shifting engines with full control over each and both capable of transposing over a +/- 3 octave range as well as detuning +/-99 cents.

The Pitch Fork + Features:

  • Dedicated volume controls for both Shift voices and the Dry signal.
  • Two outputs, Main and Aux, with multiple routing options.
  • 10 unique factor presets plus the ability to easily save/recall 100 programs.
  • A Bypass footswitch that toggles between effect on and buffered bypass. In latch mode it switches between effect and bypass mode. In Momentary mode the effect is on when the FS is held down and the pedal enters bypass when it’s released.
  • A User footswitch that’s programmable and can be assigned to a variety of functions such as muting either Shift voice or jumping to a preset program. It features a dedicated LED.
  • An EXP input for EXP or CV control over a broad selection of parameters in three sub-menus: Frequency, Glissando and Volume.
  • An EXT input for connecting with an external foot controller like EHX’s Triple Foot Controller which enables players to change modes, enter/exit sub-menus and load presets.
