Taylor Guitars has a Summer Song Giveaway

Taylor Guitars has a Summer Song Giveaway where you could win a brand-new Taylor 814ce DLX Grand Auditorium guitar. You must enter by August 31, 2018, to win.

One (1) winner from the USA or Canada, and one (1) winner from France, Germany, the Netherlands, or the United Kingdom, will each receive a V-Class 814ce DLX acoustic-electric guitar, an approximate retail value of $3,999.99 (€3,429.49).

Taylor Guitars’ 800 Series Grand Auditorium has long been one of Taylor Guitars’ most popular models, and the 814ce DLX only adds to that guitar’s legacy. A solid set of East Indian rosewood for the back and sides produces a warm, powerful low end and scooped mids for a delightfully rich sound, while a solid Sitka spruce top adds high-end clarity and sparkle.

The guitar’s finely textured sound reveries a boost from V-Class bracing, a new Taylor innovation that expands the capabilities of the 814ce DLX by adding sustain and volume to this already-powerful guitar. The new bracing design couples beautifully with the natural sonic hues of rosewood and spruce, enhancing these tonewoods’ natural shimmer and overtonal bloom. V-Class bracing also neutralizes the disorderly vibrations that lead to poor intonation, making this a more musical instrument all around.

To enter the Taylor Guitars Summer Song Giveaway, you need to fill out the entry form on the Taylor Guitars website. The latest version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser is required.) The form asks for your email address, your country, and asks if you are a guitar owner.

Audified Released MixChecker Pro

Audified has released MixChecker Pro, and answered some questions they received about the release. MixChecker Pro will be available in parallel with the original MixChecker.

Now you may upgrade from the standard to the Pro version spending only a fraction of the full price.

If you have purchased MixChecker from our resellers, they have the records about your purchase and they should offer the discounted upgrade.

Audified has additional information for those who purchased MixChecker from Audified, explaining that you don’t need an Audifed account, and clarifying that at checkout you must fill in the name, email address and other credentials the same way as you did with the original MixChecker.

MixChecker Pro is not a new version of MixChecker. Instead, MixChecker Pro is a more advanced and featured packed product.

The MixChecker Pro interface has the same elegance and ease of use as the original MixChecker. In addition, it has new things including:

  • New simulations: All characteristics are newly measured, the processing engine is completely different with lower latency and better phase linearity. No simple impulse responses inside.
  • Create sets of simulations: Drag the selected simulations in any order to the MixChecker buttons. Save your selection to several “Button sets” together with stereo base width and volume level for each button.
  • Custom settings and labels for buttons: The MixChecker buttons have several adjustable parameters. You may even assign one simulated device to several buttons, each with different settings. To distinguish between them, there could be a custom label placed over each button.
  • Distortion: We are experts in exact modeling distortions and saturations, either of speakers or of amps, preamps and other circuits. We used this experience and we added modeling of these distortions to MixChecker Pro.
  • Web browser, iOS and Android remote control: MixChecker Pro comes accompanied by web browser, mobile phone, or tablet control. Remote Control is in beta stage now and the iOS version will be available a few days after approval.
  • Auto Advance: You don’t need to browse through simulations manually. The adjustable auto advance function does it for you.

Roland Announced SRX Keyboard Software Synthesizer for Roland Cloud

Roland announced the SRX Keyboards Software Synthesizer for Roland Cloud, a virtual recreation of an early-2000s SRX expansion board that was originally only available for compatible Roland hardware synths. This SRX expansion compiled the very best Roland keyboard sounds into a single expansion.

SRX Keyboards puts all this into a powerful plug-in using Roland’s acclaimed DCB (Digital Circuit Behavior) technology to reproduce every nuance and detail of the original hardware. DCB uses the original sample ROM and accurately reproduces the original waveforms and any behavior of artifacts that resulted from the digital components and circuitry used in the hardware unit.

With over 1700 original waveforms, 86 effects, and 393 preset tones, SRX Keyboards gives artists and producers plenty of room to craft their sounds using its deep, high-resolution editing interface. The collection covers a vast range of classic keyboard sounds from all manner of acoustic and electric pianos to synth pads, string machines, and much more.

For musicians that owned the original SRX expansion board, it will become immediately apparent that SRX Keyboards is tonally indistinguishable from the hardware. For everyone else, the breadth of tweakable tones in the SRX Keyboard lends itself perfectly to all modern musical genres and sub-genres.

As with all Roland Cloud Software synthesizers, SRX Keyboards is part of the Roland Cloud core membership that can be tried out risk-free for 30 days by simply registering for a Roland Cloud account.
