Jackson Introduces X-Series Soloist Guitar

Jackson introduces X-Series Soloist Guitar. Distinctive and affordable, Jackson’s X Series Soloist models are built for speed and comfort! The X Series Soloist SLX DX Camo is a venerable double-cutaway workhorse that offers many fine features desired by today’s shredders.

This soloist model features an ergonomically curved poplar body and through-body maple neck with reinforcement for rock-solid stability and tilt-back scarf joint headstock for reduced playing fatigue. Hosting 24 jumbo frets, its 12”- 16” compound radius bound laurel fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out.

Active Jackson covered high-output humbucking pickups power this metal beast with an expansive voice load with crunchy, full-bodied tone ideal for brazen lead work or assertive rhythms runs. Tone is fully customizable with three-way pickup blade switching and single volume and tone controls, while a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo bridge system provides superior string stability and dynamic tremolo action.

Battle-ready, the X Series Soloist SLX DX Came is dressed in Multi-Color Camo or Winter Camo with matching camo pointy headstock and black hardware.

Jackson Releases the Pro Series Signature Brandon Ellis Kelly

Jackson announced the release of the Pro Series Signature Brandon Ellis Kelly.

The Black Dahlia Murder guitarist has been captivating the metal realm since taking over lead guitar duties on the band’s 2017 album Nightbringers. Jackson is proud to honor the incredible talents of the self-taught axe ace with a signature model that seethes with metal sophistication, while also delivering massive sound and high-performance efficiency.

“This is my first signature guitar and it’s a huge honor to me to work with Jackson and to offer this as a production model,” said Ellis. “It’s based on my custom shop Kelly, which is the guitar I ordered when I first teamed up with Jackson, and I really wanted to represent that. The sharp contours really embodies the whole attitude that I like to put into my guitar playing. It looks pure metal.”

This instrument features the lightweight and resonant poplar body-wings and a through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf going for enhanced sustain, stability and comfort. Built for pulverizing speed, a 12”-16” compound radius bound ebony fingerboard hosts 24 jumbo frets and reverse pearled shark inlays.

Ready to roar, this sig model is also equipped with a single Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis bridge humbucking pickup. This humbucker rips with plenty of over-wound attitude for bright, expressive high-end and endless sustain, while a Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo system provides exceptional dynamic response and reliable tuning stability throughout extreme pitch changes.

“I have never seen this pickup offered on a production guitar so that’s really cool,” said Ellis. “It’s designed specifically for guitars with Floyd Rose tremolos. On each side of each string, there are actually two pole pieces that run parallel, which creates a really precise magnetic field and you just get a really high-clarity, hifi kind of sound out if it.”

Ellis also elaborated on why he skipped a neck pickup.

“I’m really going for that heavy metal, rich overtone, searing harmonics thing and the bridge pickup is where I find my tone,” he explained. “I’d also be lying if I didn’t say it was paying homage to Eddie Van Halen. If Eddie didn’t need it, I don’t want it.”

Other features include a single volume control, Donlop dual-locking strap buttons and Jackson sealed die-cast tuners.

As distinctive as its namesake, the Pro Series Signature Brandon Ellis Kelly comes in a standout Green Crackle finish with black hardware and a reverse pointed 6-in-line black headstock with green Jackson logo.

Jackson Releases Pro Series Signature Marty Friedman MF-1 Guitar

Jackson has introduced the Pro Series Signature Marty Friedman MF-1 Purple Mirror guitar. It is available in February of 2021.

One of the most influential and respected players in the world, Marty Friedman’s impactful and game-changing contributions to heavy metal and guitar in general continue to inspire generations of musicians and music fans to this day. He defined modern guitar playing with Jason Becker in Cacophony, was a key element in the widely successful rise of thrash pioneers Megadeth, and with his “Marty-esque” improvisations and exotic fusion of Eastern and Western music, has achieved global success as a solo artist.

Jackson continues their longstanding relationship with Friedman by collaborating with the virtuoso on the Pro Series Signature Marty Friedman MF-1. This 24.75”-scale signature model is loaded with great features to match the demanding needs of an elite and intricate player like Friedman – but at an affordable price.

Friedman’s signature MF-1 features a resonant mahogany with a striking cracked mirror top. A mahogany set-neck features a scarf joint and graphite-reinforcement rods to protect against environmental depredations. A 12”-radius bound ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and pearloid blocks inlays is an ideal playing surface for swift licks or articulate chord work.

Marty Friedman dual passive EMG MF signature humbucking pickups deliver a sound that sings and screams. This axe is also equipped with two volume and two tone controls as well as a three-way pickup toggle switch to wrangle all of the subtle nuances out of your guitar tone. The Jackson TOM-style adjustable bridge with anchored tailpiece and die-cast locking tuners creates improved intonation and enhanced sustain.

Never fear being upstaged with the all-new cracked Purple Mirror finish, complete with 3-ply white/abalone/white body binding, all-black hardware and reverse Jackson 3×3 (3 over, 3 under) AT-1 black headstock.

Jackson Announces Upgrades to Adrian Smith Signature USA Models

Jackson announced the refresh of Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith’s signature lineup with a key upgrade to both the USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas® SD and USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas SDM models.

Iron Maiden is one of the most successful and influential metal bands ever, and Adrian Smith’s molten yet melodic guitar work has long been a driving force behind their distinctive and dynamic sound. With timeless songwriting and thrilling live performances, Maiden continues to record, tour internationally and rock stadiums everywhere with electrifying prowess and unwavering heavy metal passion.

Designed for Smith’s demanding studio and live needs, the USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas® SD and USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas SDM feature a resonant, lightweight alder body and a bolt-on quartersawn maple neck with a hand-rubbed urethane back finish for smooth playability and a pair of graphite-reinforcement rods that refuse to budge, no matter the environmental stress it’s exposed to. Featuring 22 jumbo frets and dot inlays, the 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard is the ideal platform for heavy chording and fast, ripping solos.

Considering Iron Maiden’s relentless touring regiment, Smith wished to update these models with a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel to make neck relief tweaks much more convenient.

“The nice thing is I pick one of these guitars out of the box and it’s like putting on a comfortable pair of jeans,” said Smith. “Right away, I am totally comfortable with it, but it has the new feature of the adjustable truss rod thumbwheel so instead of having to take the neck off, you can just adjust it, which is a great feature.”

A DiMarzio® Super Distortion® DP100 humbucker in the bridge adds the perfect blend of power and tone, with thick, boosted mids, big lows and fat highs, while Samarium Cobalt Noiseless Single-Coil Strat® middle and neck pickups deliver authentic, noise-free Stratocaster® snap with incredible dynamic and magnetic response. A five-way blade selector switch along with single volume and tone controls open up endless tonal possibilities, while the Floyd Rose® Original double-locking tremolo system keeps the guitar in tune through the roughest playing, set after set.

“I’m really sensitive about tuning,” said Smith. “I drive everyone crazy when we are recording because if it isn’t dead in tune it upsets me but with the locking trems and everything else, it sort of answered my prayers because it meant I could play a whole show with the same guitar and keep perfectly in tune.”

Groomed for high performance, these signature axes are wrapped in a classic Snow White finish with a licensed Fender® Strat headstock and black hardware. The SDM features a maple fingerboard and black pickguard, while the SD features an ebony fingerboard and white pickguard.
