To enter, you need to download the starter pack from the My RØDE Reel 2021 website. It includes the My RØDE Reel 2021 title card, which you must include at the start of your film. There is also some handy resources to help get you started.
Here is how RØDE describes the prizes:
We are giving away US$250,000 in cash to the winner of My RØDE Reel – the largest cash prize ever offered in a short film competition. You could use this to help fund your next project, buy the gear of your dreams, pay your bills – whatever you need to do to launch your career into the stratosphere. There are also loads of cash and gear prize packs to be won across the genre and special categories to help you take the next step on your filmmaking journey.
Here is how to enter the My RØDE Reel 2021 Short Film Contest:
- Download your starter pack, access freebies from MZed and Musicbed, and check out past winning entries to get you inspired.
- Make a short fill up to 3 minutes in length. It can be on any topic you like. Use the prize categories to inspire the direction of your film.
- Make a behind-the-scenes film, up to 3 minutes in length, that shows us how you make your short film and features the RØDE product(s) that you used in your production.
- Sign up for a My RØDE Reel account, and complete the registration process. The registration page will open soon!
- Submit your film to My RØDE Reel. Once approved, it will appear on the “watch” page.
- Share your film and encourage your friends, family and fans to vote – there’s a People’s Choice Prize to be won for the film with the most public votes!
